As a business executive it is imperative that you convey your
leadership role in a professional, trust-worthy atmosphere when dealing
with staff or current/potential customers in order to remain successful.
While this is much easier said than done, there are solutions you can
implement that will aid you in this endeavor.
With everything that
it takes to run a successful business these days, sooner or later there
are bound to be one or two things that get overlooked by business
owners, such as how much your staff trust in yourself, your executives,
and your company as a whole.
According to the 2011 Building Trust
in Business Survey that was conducted by the Interaction Associates,
staff members communicate trust in their colleagues, but are guarded and
distrustful of leaders, and are looking for more involvement and
transparency regarding the decisions that affect them.
A few key points made in the survey include:
- High performers are looking for more consistent feedback in regards to their performance
- Employees are searching for more support when it comes to risk-taking endeavors
- Leaders are not being used to their full potential, and many are even working one or more levels below where they should be
- Employees are not empowered to resolve their problems autonomously
- Employees are putting the blame on their leaders for not connecting individual professional goals with general corporate performance. They are looking for validation that what they are doing matters and for a reason why/how their work impacts the company as whole
The Seven Barriers of Communication
Thursday, June 23, 2011 11:38 AM By Planet Venus , In Communications
Most people would agree that communication between two
individuals should be simple. It's important to remember that there are
differences between talking and communicating. When you communicate, you
are successful in getting your point across to the person you're
talking to. When we talk, we tend to erect barriers that hinder our
ability to communicate. There are seven of these types of barriers to
effective communication.
Physical barriers are easy to spot - doors that are closed, walls that are erected, and distance between people all work against the goal of effective communication. While most agree that people need their own personal areas in the workplace, setting up an office to remove physical barriers is the first step towards opening communication.
Perceptual barriers, in contrast, are internal. If you go into a situation thinking that the person you are talking to isn't going to understand or be interested in what you have to say, you may end up subconsciously sabotaging your effort to make your point.

Improving Satellite Bandwidth Efficiency Using Modern Communication Technology
Thursday, June 9, 2011 11:37 AM By Planet Venus , In Communications
Data which is transmitted over the satellite is shown in megabits per
second which in other words, is what satellite bandwidth is. There are
those who get more from their satellite system while others do not.
However, every provider of the service is fighting to achieve more these
days. So why is there differences in the bandwidths received by
different parties?
The design of a system and how the network is
managed determines how much is to be received in the long run. Using
technologies such as SatCell can help optimize mobile signals while
helping backhaul that is to be transmitted as IP through a satellite
network. This method does not assign a fixed amounts of bandwidths to
the existing base stations but instead utilizes architecture that have
been customized to meet the patterns and the volume of traffic that is
communicated through the network.
